Who it's for

Eyelid lift muscle operations are performed on patients who suffer from upper eyelid drooping when the function of the lifting muscle is suitable for this type of surgery. The appropriate procedure is chosen according to the nature of each case, and may include tendon advancement or reattachment, or shortening of part of the muscle, according to the needs of the case. These operations can be performed on both children and adults, with varying reasons and approaches to each case depending on age and characteristics of the drooping.

What to expect

The levator muscle of the eyelid and its associated tendon are addressed through a surgical incision in the natural upper eyelid crease, which helps the scar to be less noticeable over time. In the first days and weeks following the procedure, it is normal for the patient to notice swelling or bruising around the eyelid, a feeling of tightness or some discomfort. There may be a temporary difference in the level or shape of the eyelid, and the eyes may appear uneven at first, especially with the presence of swelling. The shape of the eyelid begins to stabilize gradually as the swelling improves and recovery progresses.
